Canadian Cyclone Helicopter Crashes Near Greek Coast

The Royal Canadian Air Force lost a CH-148 Cyclone helicopter on April 29th, with Greek news reporting that the aircraft crashed near the country’s coast. The Canadian armed forces stated following the loss: “Contact was lost with the aircraft as it was participating in Allied exercises off the coast of Greece… Search and rescue efforts are currently underway... As this is evolving, we have no further information to provide at this time.” The helicopter was operating as part of the Standing NATO Maritime Group 2. The crash occurred around 40km from Greek waters, after the helicopter took off from a Canadian warship.
